Who We Are

Our ministry helps educate people who are willing to leave their homes and brave the perils of a disaster or trauma incident to provide aid and comfort to hurting fellow human beings.

In a world that seems to have been turned upside-down with all the chaos, suffering, trauma, and grief, people are recognizing the need for qualified Chaplains. Traditional chaplain positions in public service are expanding, but new opportunities such as corporations, schools, and churches are now seeing the need to employ either a chaplain or establish a Chaplain Corps.

We are making changes to our ministry business model to meet these new dynamics. We see a great opportunity to build upon the success of the ministry that you are familiar with and have started the process of envisioning an exciting new future. The vision for the future is a dramatically expanded curriculum and training opportunities; a cadre of well-trained instructors; coupled with a strong web and social media presence. We intend to train over 1000 chaplains per year, locally, and nationally. Living Shield Ministries will become a College of Chaplaincy which equips chaplains by extending their knowledge and skills drawn from hundreds of thousands of hours of ministering to people in crisis. 

We want to create an environment that will enable us to recruit first-time students and encourage past students to continuously extend their crisis management and chaplain skills.  It will promote the need for chaplains, identify chaplain position opportunities, share chaplain stories from the field, and be a helpful source of tips and reading.  We intend to develop and acquire a broad base of additional courseware targeted at Chaplains in multiple disciplines such as Police, Fire, Hospital, Hospice, Disaster, and Church Chaplains. In addition, we plan to meet the needs of existing Chaplains by developing new Advanced Chaplain Certification programs and are investigating opportunities of establishing training facilities beyond Riverside, CA.

We draw our instructors and courseware developers from a cadre of working chaplains that have accumulated thousands of hours of experience. This enables us to share real-world experiences and do practical exercises, rather than just theoretical approaches.

Our mission is not just to train people in the skills of caring for people in trauma, but it is to raise up Chaplains and caring individuals to bring the love of Christ to hurting people.
