Start the path to becoming a Chaplain
Become a Chaplain with other caring individuals to bring the love of Christ to hurting people.
Help make this world one where everyone in crisis will experience the hope found in Jesus Christ.
What is a Chaplain?
A Chaplain is a spiritually-called, crisis management trained minister who is certified and ordained by a chaplaincy organization and endorsed by their church. The chaplain’s primary role is to provide spiritual/pastoral care to people in crisis, in their place of crisis.
People in Chaplaincy consider it a divine calling by God. It is a ministry built on compassion for others who have lost hope or need to be given hope for an upcoming event.
Are you called to be a Chaplain?
If you are a good listener, have compassion for hurting people, and have a desire to lovingly care for people who are struggling, you may want to consider being a Chaplain.
Sometimes people consider Chaplaincy who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These people have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern.
Is there a need for Chaplains?
People often ask, “Is there a demand for Chaplains?” The short answer is—YES! Why is there such a demand? One word—CRISIS!
Natural disasters and man-caused disasters are occurring at an alarming rate everywhere across our nation and around the world. Be it a hurricane, tornado, earthquake, tsunami, cyclone, or fire, many people are at a loss and have no idea how to cope, causing people to lose trust and hope.
Founded in 2008 Living Shield Ministries has been at the forefront of training Chaplains and crisis workers. The ministry provides the skills and education to enable them to ensure each person in crisis finds hope; opening the door to encounter the love of Jesus during their time of need.
